Sampling Summer Jobs

Coastal Promotions here in Vancouver, is looking for people to provide beer and cider sampling at various venues and events such as liquor stores and golf tournaments. This is a perfect summer job working with the public!!

Vancouver International Wine Festival

Monday was another great wine class! Thanks to Rebecca and Brandon for the muscle in corking wine bottles!

Mentioned in Monday’s class, was the up coming Vancouver International Wine Festival. This is a great opportunity to taste a variety of wines, talk to the industry professionals and improve your new found tasting skills. “Serving it Right” and why you need it?

Why do you need “Serving it Right Certification?

  1. You cannot legally serve alcohol in the province of British Columbia with a Serving It Right Certificate?
  2. In the bartending industry you will not even be considered for employment without this document.
  3. Learn how to keep customers and the public safe while allowing them to enjoy the benefits and pleasures that good food and drink can bring,
  4. Learn how to encouraging a responsible, caring and professional approach to the serving of alcohol.

What is the Serving it Right Certification?

  1. Serving It Right is a responsible beverage service program. It is designed to encourage a responsible, caring and professional approach to the service of alcohol.
  2. It is a government-sponsored course teaching you all the legalities behind responsible alcohol sales.

Who must have Serving it Right Certification?

If you are going to work for one of the following four categories you will need certification.  No Certification – No Work!

  1. Food-primary licence (restaurants)
  2. Licensee retail store licence (private liquor stores)
  3. Liquor-primary licence (bars, pubs, nightclubs, casinos, stadiums)
  4. Special Occasion License

How can Metropolitan Bartending help me with certification?

With Metropolitans’ hands on instruction, you will be workforce ready when you walk out our doors. Without this certification you’ll have all the bartending skills and no employer desirability.

Metropolitan offers the course as part of our programs or as an individual class.
